Why this exists
Pressing is the independent-label site that leads with the records, not a band photo — a loud, neobrutalist press sheet in stark white, hard 2px ink rules, flat blocks and printed offset shadows, with one electric ultramarine turned all the way up. The home page is a Crate: a dense grid of your cover art on an ink grid, the wordmark set in a boxed offset stamp, and a full-bleed marquee tracklist scrolling underneath — the catalogue you can almost hear. Hover a sleeve and it flips in 3D to the vinyl; the ultramarine signal carries the Buy and Listen buttons, the active filters, and a persistent now-playing bar with a waveform scrubber that threads across every page. The catalogue reads two ways on a toggle — a wall of sleeves or a mono ledger table, the pressing manifest set like a spec sheet. Eight pages: home, the full catalogue, the roster, a fully-built artist page, a release page built as an honest transaction (sleeve, tracklist, credits, an outbound Buy link — no fake cart), the journal with a built article, and an about page with a demo-submission form. The cover-art tiles stay yours to fill — a record-groove placeholder until you drop your sleeves in — while the editorial photography (the pressing plant, the studio, the roster) ships real and cinematic; every image is a slot you swap in the editor. Under the hood it is valid HTML that works with JavaScript off, all signature motion is pure CSS (the marquee tracklists and the cover-flip) plus MIT-licensed Lenis smooth scroll, every effect with reduced-motion and no-JS resting states, every colour pair computed to WCAG 2.2 AA, and all three typefaces vendored so nothing loads from a font CDN.
